About
Roaster Notes
"Washed lot from the Virunga washing station in North Kivu, DRC, on the Ugandan and Rwandan border — terroir known for fruity coffees with heavy mouthfeel and black tea and vanilla notes. The Virunga range houses Virunga National Park, where rangers protect gorillas from poachers. Arabica was introduced to the DRC by Belgian colonists in the late 1800s; production peaked in the 1970s–80s before collapsing in the 1990s and is now resurgent."
