About

Its not often we taste a decaf coffee that can hold its own in our Rare range! The Bensa Bombe is a classic, naturally processed Ethiopian coffee, decaffeinated using the sugarcane method. The citrus and stone fruit character of the coffee still shines through and the result is a cup you'll want to drink all day long. The light roasting enhances the syrupy sweetness without losing any of the clarity of the original coffee.

Roaster Notes

"Producer Tariku Kare Banata (Tariku Coffee), Bensa, Sidama and West Arsi, Ethiopia. Altitude 1993-2150m. Varietal: Heirloom. Process: Natural (dried cherry), decaffeinated by the sugarcane (ethyl acetate) method, which removes around 97% of the caffeine via gentle steaming, immersion in natural sugarcane-derived ethyl acetate and resteaming before drying. Tariku founded his company in 2011 and now supports 20 permanent staff and around 600 seasonal workers, with local education and farmer training initiatives."
