About

Bright, juicy and sweet! Finca El Jardin is a fruit-forward washed coffee made for summer drinking. Expect tart pink grapefruit, crisp Pink Lady apple and sweet pomegranate, with a clean, refreshing finish. A clean profile allows its vibrant fruit character to shine, finishing with a refreshing sweetness that lingers. The coffee is produced by Mario Samuel Mejia in the Montecillos region of La Paz, Honduras. Sitting at 1,600 metres above sea level, Finca El Jardin has 14 hectares planted with around 65,000 Red and Yellow Catuai and Pacas coffee trees. Citrus and avocado also grow across the farm for the family and local markets. Once picked, the coffee is mechanically demucilaged and fermented for around 30 hours. It is then carefully sun-dried on raised nylon mesh for 12-15 days. This controlled washed process brings clarity and brightness to the cup, allowing its fresh pink-fruit character to shine. Mario is one of 40 members of CONEXH, known locally as Los Compaz: a group of producers committed to quality, traceability and exceptional Honduran coffee.
